List of Cowboy Sayings
Southern Hospitality:

You may not know it but when competing companies work together they actually help one another out. If Wal-mart steps in and helps out K-mart then you would have the world’s largest distribution and retail shops around the world.

Well this is funny when you look at it isn’t it? Why would competing companies work together?

It is done because they have a strong compassion for something that connects them together. This story is not about Wal-mart or K-mart; it is about Ranchers and Farmers helping one another.

We have written several times about the Desert Cowboys and their adventures over in Iraq. Well everyone knows how we support them and how we are all Proud of them. But, it is almost impossible for us as a simple Family Owned Ranch to support them with everything that they may need. So several other Companies and Ranches have stepped up and filled the void that we can not.

One Ranch in particular that stepped up to the plate and rose above the crowd was the Watson Cattle Company , right here in Arizona. They heard about the Desert Cowboys computer which had crashed and ran out and bought another one for them. After Mike (Mr. Watson) bought a brand new computer and mailed it to the Cowboys he received it back in three weeks to find it had been opened and smashed to pieces, stamped insignificant funds. What a heart breaker. But, Mike was unswayed from this. He had bought a backup computer for his son, Chris, from In the Saddle with Chris. Chris has his own talk show and you can even listen to it every Sunday on the Internet. Anyway, Mike mailed Chris’ new backup computer to the Desert Cowboys and got them up and running updating their site, Cowboy Crew .

To say thanks to the Watson Cattle Company our very own Russell Anderson took the time to sit down and make up a new logo for them. You can view the logo on this page. We just wanted to say that we are proud of the fact that our Cowboys go the extra mile to thanks those who have stepped up and helped out.

There was also several other companies who stepped up to help out, they were:

Fast Back Ropes – Sending a ton of Ropes for the Cowboys to fend off boredom.
The Frost Family – Sent signed Cowboy Bibles for all the Desert Cowboys.
Knead A Cookie? – Sending tons of Cookies for a taste of home.
Wind Spirit Distributing – Sending Games and Books.

As you can see when competing companies come together they can help out! This is just to show you that we are not claiming to be the best Ranch around what we are claiming is that we have the best job in the world. The country lifestyle is livin’ by choice, it is not mandatory. At any time we could sell off our Ranch and move into town. But look around America we are not going anywhere.

There is a drive for collecting different things that are country to mail out to the Desert Cowboys underway all the way from National Day of the Cowboy to Cowboy Crew to us to collect these things up and mail them out to the Cowboys. If you are interested in donating anything (New or Used) to the Desert Cowboys you can mail them off to this location, helping create thier Care Packets.
