Trail of Fear
Trail of Fears October 2007

Well Halloween has come around again. We decided to take the family on the Trail of Fears, a Hunted Hay Ride.

We waited until it got dark and gathered together. Russell, Casey, Ashley, Chance, Bo, Clarisa, Bridget and Ronnie all went as one big happy family. Once we got there we found out kind of quickly that Bridget and Clarisa are both deathly afraid of Clowns. So finding this out of course Russell sicked the Clowns on them. He was able to get several pictures of them, while we waited for the John Deere Tractor to pull up and take them to the Haunted City.

Once the tractor had dropped them off a gentleman wearing a white hockey mask greeted them. He explained the rules to us, from atop a wooden platform, which you can see from below. He tried his best to put a little fear in everyone. But, I don’t think anyone was really scared at this point.

The trail weaved thru a wooden fence area, which leads you, to an old wooden house, then thru two mobile homes. We had several people in front of us. But then no one wanted to lead the way and everyone in our group told Russell to lead the way. No problem he thought.

He walked up to the wooden house and saw someone walking around and he was paying attention to a large woman carrying a baby. As he was about to step into the house a woman who was in a rolled up ball of tattered clothing slapped a stick on the door. That startled everyone. Once in the building you were able to look around as the woman inside walked around in circles. She finally opened the door and it was back on the trail again.

This time it was to the first mobile home. A man on all fours hissed and acted as if he was striking out at people. Russell and Ronnie went around him with no problem. Casey and Bridget on the other hand had a heck of a time, as they were scared to walk around him. They held on to each other tightly and screamed for Russell to come back and get them. Well he started to and then decided to get a picture of them, as seen below.

Walking between the first mobile home and the second mobile home there was a man with a chainsaw who would turn it on and chase people around. He stood behind a sheath and waited until everyone walked by and then snuck up from behind. He got Casey and Bridget really good. Ronnie seen him coming and got in front of Russell.

The Second mobile had a guy acting as a dog chewing on what looked like a hot water bottle. There was nothing really scary in that house. But we could hear banging and screams, so it makes us wander what we had missed. Once you come out of that trailer there is one more guy who has a bone and scares on his face that tries to scare you. The dog boy and this last guy also come around after you exit and mess with people in line.

The tractor then picks you back up and takes you back to the entrance. We were able to walk around their makeshift town and look around.

Once we left the Trail of Fears we headed to Brahms for some ice cream. That ended our night.
